We sent our East Asia correspondent Elliot to the prestigious Chengdu Motor Show to report back on the ‘cheap, cool & crazy electric cars’ at the event. Highlights from the show – the largest and most influential exhibition of its kind in West China – include the Baojun e300p, the BYD Han, the Chery Arrizo Star and the Toyota Izoa. While the traditional automotive industry might feel like it’s slowed down, exhibitions like this hint at an exciting future EVs.
