1st look at the Polestar 2, the Chinese-owned, Scandi-styled car with Jonny.

Jonny Smith joins the crowds to check out one of the stars of the Geneva Motor Show 2019; the Polestar 2.

Polestar is Volvo’s new performance sub-brand, jointly owned by Volvo Car Group and Zhejiang Geely Holding.

The 402bhp AWD Polestar 2 will be a pure EV saloon and the first car to be built by the company.

A worthy rival for the Tesla 3 and Jag iPace?

  • 402bhp and 487lbft with 150KW DC charging facility
  • Sub 5 sec 0-62 (4.7 to 60) and twin motor AWD.
  • Production starts in 2020
  • Launch model will cost roughly £51k / €60k / USD $63k… then the standard guide price 12 months later will be £35k / €40k thereafter.

Polestar 3 (a large SUV) comes in 2021 and all subsequent Polestars will be pure EV only. Standard vegan interior materials, black ash and reconstructed wood decor elements, textile surface panels. Nappa leather is optional.
