Following the recent announcement that the Fully Charged SHOW will be launching Zapheap, a bold new pilot, comes the exciting announcement that British YouTuber, engineer, and inventor Colin Furze will join original Scrapheap Challenge host Robert Llewellyn as co-host of the series.
Zapheap will bring back the spirit of inventive competition with a powerful modern twist: electric innovation. In this high-energy pilot, two teams of expert-led tinkerers will transform scrap materials into electric-powered machines—all under intense time pressure.
Filming of Zapheap is set to start in July 2025 with two teams guided by industry-leading experts Richard Morgan of Electric Classic Cars and Anne Kloppenberg of New Electric.
Working from top-secret workshops, the teams will have just 10 hours to engineer their electrified creations. Adding to the drama, Fully Charged presenters Imogen Bhogal and Jack Scarlett will provide live updates from the heart of the action.
The finished masterpieces will be put to the test in front of a live audience at the Everything Electric Expo in Farnborough this October. The races—set to take place on Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th October—will be hosted by Robert, Colin, and the Fully Charged team, giving attendees a front-row seat to the electric-fuelled excitement.
Robert Llewellyn said,
“We are over the moon to welcome Colin Furze as co-host of Zapheap. His extensive experience and boundless enthusiasm as an engineer, inventor, and presenter make him the perfect person to help bring this inspirational gameshow to life—for both a new generation and those who remember and loved the original. We’ve been lucky enough to welcome Colin as a keynote speaker at our Everything Electric events in London, and we’re thrilled he’ll be joining us to finally make the Zapheap dream a reality.”
Colin Furze added,
“Scrapheap Challenge was a massive part of my childhood, it’s one of the things that inspired me to start building in the first place. I hope Zapheap sparks a whole new wave of makers to pick up tools and get inventing”.
