OH MG! How a British brand went worldwide…

OH MG! While other OEMs have hogged the headlines, MG has been building a brilliant range of🔋EVs, with the new MGS6🤩being the latest in an ever expanding line-up.

I just got to drive it👇🏼& while we’ll save the in-depth car review to Everything Electric’s experts, like Jack Scarlett, I can’t help but remark on how far the 🇬🇧brand has come… 🤯

  • As a UK manufacturer it peaked at less than 100,000 (national and international) annual sales, & now under the ownership of SAIC it’s zeroing in on 1,000,000 sales p/a.
  • Buoyed by its🔋EV strategy, MG has reinvented itself, and now has MG4, MGS5, MGS6 and MG Cyberster, MG IM5 and IM6 – 4 launches this year alone 📈
  • 🌍 Now selling in 120 countries 🤯 with China, followed by UK, India, Mexico & Australia as its biggest markets, but also making up ground in Europe and elsewhere
  • 🇬🇧 No.2 for private retail sales since 2019 (only behind early market leaders Tesla), indicates a brand that’s cracked the code of how to sell EVs to consumers 👏🏼
  • I own an MG4 (recommended). I loved the MGS5 (Electric Vehicles UK had one at Labour Party Conference). MGS6 is an excellent, larger addition, & there’s more to come 👀
  • Meanwhile, orders (& reviews) for performance-focused IM5 and IM6 have been exceptional. Exciting times ahead.
  • Keeping our🤞🏼that the Cyber-X concept comes here too.
