The first Fully Charged LIVE Australia is in touching distance, and it promises to be our best launch to date.
The launch events are always a challenge, as more conservative companies prefer to let others take the risk.
Fully Charged LIVE Australia will be packed with progressive companies and 10-15,000 positive consumers.
While this is the first show Down Under, it’s the Fully Charged LIVE team’s 8th worldwide, with 5 more in 2023.
As YouTubers the Fully Charged LIVE shows are built with world-class content and an array of attractions.
Ticket holders can expect a ‘festival of electrification’ in which several carmakers are set to take centre stage.
The ‘Watt Drive?’ test drive programme is shaping up to be the biggest and best ever held in Australia.
But there is an obvious omission, Tesla (more below), which has declined to participate. Fear not though…
Fully Charged LIVE Australia will ensure it has ‘almost every EV available’ through the addition of the show’s favourite features including ‘Electric Alley’ (currently available cars), ‘Electric Launchpad (cars that are coming soon) the ‘Electric & Eclectic’ zone (electric conversions) and the Tesla Owners’ zone.
Stars include MG, who are offering test drives of the highly successful ZS, will also have MG4 on display.
What’s more BYD are offering test drives of their Atto 3, as is the show’s Sustainability Partner with Polestar 2.
In addition to the car-related attractions, ticket holders will also be able to access an array of features, including the incredibly popular Home Energy Advice Team (H.E.A.T.) powered by Origin Energy, M1CRO MACH1NES for boards, bikes and scooters, the Family Fun Zone and the Electric Café.
The perennial favourite at all the Fully Charged LIVE shows worldwide are the 40+ ‘live sessions’ across 2 stages – the Giga Theatre, powered by Polestar, and the Mega Theatre, powered by Enphase Energy. Sessions will be hosted by Fully Charged presenters Robert Llewellyn and Elliot Richards and Australian YouTubers including Simone Annan (CarTell TV), Sam Evans (Electric Viking) and Rosemary Barnes (Engineering with Rosie).
Look out on the Fully Charged SHOW and Everything Electric SHOW on YouTube this February and March for around 15+ episodes and podcasts filmed in Australia, as part of the Fully Charged LIVE campaign.
Fully Charged LIVE Australia, kindly supported by the NRMA, takes place on the top deck (inside and outside) of the ICC Sydney, overlooking Darling Harbour, on Saturday the 11th and Sunday the 12th March 2023.
Robert Llewellyn, Founder of the Fully Charged SHOW had this to say:
“As the husband of a long-suffering Australian, it’s amazing to finally be bringing our unique take on clean energy and electric vehicles to Sydney. It’s hard to describe just how positive these events have been in the UK, US and Europe, and we know that you will have a wonderful weekend. I’d like to express our gratitude to all of our sponsors and exhibitors for making this possible, not least the NRMA and I’d like to extend a special shoutout to the Electric Vehicle Council too. Even after all these years, I am still excited about seeing all the new bits of kit on display, not least the cars that we’ve yet to see at home and also the brilliant MG4, as I’ve just bought one and it’s waiting for me back in Britain!”
Peter Ciao, the CEO of MG Motor Australia said he’s excited to showcase the new MG4 and expand the ZS EV model offering with a longer range.
“MG Motor Australia is putting our customer’s priorities at the centre of our soon to be released MG4 and current ZS EV so we can continue providing the best driving experience possible and make EVs’ more accessible to all Australians. As the Fully Charged event debuts in Sydney for the first time ever, we are excited to be a part of this event and have the opportunity to showcase our newest model, the MG4. We know this model will speak to many peoples needs and wants in Australia and New Zealand as it has with other markets around the world. The MG4 is the first MG to be based on our EV-only MSP (Modular Scalable Platform). This introduction of our EV-only platform signals our ongoing commitment to ‘Take Charge’ and intention to move toward an EV future. We listened to our customer’s feedback and have fast tracked the arrival of our long range ZS EV with a larger 72kw battery pack and 440km of range to Australia. This provides more peace of mind in terms of minimising range anxiety and matches our pursuit of driving electric vehicles further.”
On the topic of Tesla, we thought it only fair to provide our audience – a sizable percentage of which are Tesla owners – with advance warning that it has chosen not to exhibit at Fully Charged LIVE Australia. We feel that with a brand as significant as this, that potential attendees should be made aware before booking tickets and arranging to travel (potentially significant distances). We are pleased to say that the Tesla Owners Club Australia will be creating a special Tesla Zone, so you will be able to check out the cars, although you will not be able to test drive them. But as above, there will be tons to see and do, and lots of interesting EVs to test drive.
