Everything Electric SYDNEY, powered by carsales, gave the lie to those that cast doubt on consumer interest in electric vehicles, as the show ‘caught fire’ on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at the Sydney Showground. After an exceptional opening 2 days, day 3 delivered almost half of the total attendance and stunned overwhelmed exhibitors, who likened the exhibition to the motorshows of old.

Founded by the team behind Robert Llewellyn’s Fully Charged SHOW, and enhanced by dozens of other digital content creators, Everything Electric has been able to attract huge, high-quality audiences at venues in Australia, Canada, Europe, the UK, and the US since its inception in 2018. The Sydney show, the 18th edition globally, has been hailed as a ‘watershed’ moment for EV uptake by the organisers.

A combination of a unique marketing campaign via digital channels, the addition of a breadth of electrification technologies including home tech and EVs (of all shapes and sizes), as well as a noticeable acceleration in electric car choice and cost savings*, Everything Electric SYDNEY exceeded even the organisers expectations. The show is slated to return in March 2026, and due to demand from exhibitors, Everything Electric MELBOURNE launches in November 2025.

The organisers had this to say:

“Even though we’ve been delivering these shows for the best part of a decade, and all over the world, this felt like the watershed moment we’ve been waiting for. The beginning of ‘early mainstream’ uptake of EVs, as the cost savings – *which Australia’s EVC estimates as $3,000 per annum and $11,200 over total ownership per car – becomes clear. The influx of newer car makers, with incredibly compelling tech-laden cars, is also having a huge influence on buying behaviours. We offer exhibitors serious buyers – end-users that are buying their second, third or fourth EVs, but most importantly those that are within 12 months of buying their first – and not the tyre-kickers that the tired motorshow format used to deliver. This is in no small part due to the backing of the biggest EV YouTube channels in our sectors, but also the blend of technologies on display. Evidence shows that once consumers go electric, more than 9 out of 10 never go back, and they then start to investigate other electrification options. As a show that offers ‘everything electric’ – including energy tariffs, home chargers, away-from-home charging providers, boards, bikes, motorbikes, boats, utes, vans and even trucks – the array of visitor attractions brings in a bigger and bigger number of relevant consumers. And we haven’t even mentioned the most exciting aspect for Australian’s the bidirectional bonanza that vehicle to grid will bring.”
