Everything Electric NORTH’s outdoor return receives positive review from Yorkshire visitors

Everything Electric, the UK’s award-winning festival of electrification, returned to the Great Yorkshire Event Centre on Friday 8th and Saturday 9th May, welcoming 16,103 attendees and delivering more than 4,500 electric vehicle test drives across the two-day event.

Returning with a twist, Everything Electric NORTH was entirely outdoors in May, and despite some Northern exposure on a rainy day two, attendee enthusiasm was barely dampened. The team once again brought together leading electric vehicle manufacturers and clean energy innovators for an immersive, hands-on showcase of the technologies driving the transition to cleaner transport and energy systems.

A key highlight of the weekend was a headline fireside discussion between Minister for Climate Katie White OBE MP and Fully Charged/Everything Electric Founder Robert Llewellyn. Speaking to a packed audience in the Electric Theatre, they explored the urgency of climate action, the role of electrification in reaching net zero, and the opportunities created by the shift to clean energy.

The Electric Theatre, sponsored by Hankook Tire, hosted more than 30 sessions across the weekend covering electric vehicles, home energy, sustainable living and emerging technologies attracting strong audiences throughout both days.

Visitors were also among the first in the UK to test drive the BYD Atto 3 EVO, alongside a wide range of electric vehicles from manufacturers including BMW, BYD, Ford, Geely, Hyundai, IM, Kia, Lexus, Mercedes-Benz, MG, Nissan, Omoda, Peugeot, Polestar, Tesla and Toyota. The EV test drive programme, sponsored by Big Motoring World, delivered thousands of consumer experiences across multiple brands in one location.

Friday’s dedicated B2B EV Day brought together fleet managers, business leaders and employers to explore electrification strategies, salary sacrifice schemes and commercial EV adoption, alongside extensive test drive opportunities.

The Commercial Vehicle Zone showcased the latest electric vans and pickups from brands including Citroën, Ford, Isuzu, Kia, Morris Commercial and Volkswagen, supporting growing demand from businesses transitioning to electric fleets.

Alongside transport innovation, visitors explored home energy solutions including solar, battery storage and heat pumps. Exhibitors such as Eleven Energy demonstrated next-generation sodium-ion battery systems and hybrid inverters, while experts from Vaillant and Heat Geek offered one-to-one advice sessions on reducing energy bills and carbon emissions. Additionally, Octopus Energy, Hive, OVO, Believ, Tewke, Tesla Energy, So Energy, Tepeo and Midsummer Energy were also in attendance, and others were represented within the theatre programme.

Family-friendly attractions also proved popular, including Robots LIVE hosted by Robert Llewellyn featuring machines from BBC’s Robot Wars Live!, the Hive-sponsored Power Heroes Trail, electric bike test rides and interactive sustainability activities across the site.

With strong attendance, packed theatre sessions and thousands of test drives completed, Everything Electric NORTH reaffirmed its position as the UK’s leading event for electrification, clean energy and sustainable technology. Everything Electric will continue its outdoor events in the UK with the next taking place at Cheltenham Racecourse on 12th and 13th June 2026.
