‘EVERYTHING ELECTRIC CANADA’ 2024 – A RESOUNDING SUCCESS THAT SOLIDIFIES VANCOUVER AS HOST CITY

Organizers of Everything Electric say the overwhelming reception to this year’s event has more than justified their decision to make a long-term commitment to Vancouver as this country’s host city.

Everything Electric CANADA brought together the best talks, tech and electric test drives for a three-day feelgood, family-friendly exhibition at the Vancouver Convention Centre between September 6th-8th. The knowledge-packed festival attracted 32,457 attendees this year – almost double the 17,000 that attended last year’s event.

Last week, organisers confirmed the intention to return on an annual basis and make Vancouver it’s Canadian home in the longer term. CEO Dan Caesar says the public’s reception to the 2024 event underlined that it was the right decision.

“Determining where we are going to position Everything Electric is not something we take lightly. Business, economic, political and sustainability conditions in the region are all accounted for – and in every respect, Vancouver has risen to the challenge. We can’t wait to do a detailed analysis of this year’s event to determine how can make it even bigger and better next year,”

stated Caesar.

With over 60 different electric vehicles available for test drives, this year proved to be the largest programme of EV test drives found anywhere in Canada. In total, 27 auto makers were represented at the event, with notable highlights including the Rolls-Royce Spectre, Porsche Taycan 2025, Genesis GV70 Electrified – and exclusive unveils of the Polestar Concept BST, the refreshed Hyundai IONIQ5 and Rivian’s R3, in addition to the first public test drives of the VinFast VF9.

Event goers enjoyed test rides of the lates in e-bikes, scooters and skateboards on the Micro-Mobility Test Track. The Energy Advice Zone offered 1:1 home energy advice on everything from heat pumps, insulation, batteries, smart meters, to home EV charging, solar PV, solar thermal and reducing energy bills. And more than 50 live sessions took place across two theatres including ‘Electric Fireside’ chats with special guests and dozens of experts.
