Behind the scenes the Fully Charged Show has survived Brexit, COVID, coups, copycats, chancers, & an array of Prime Ministers, but ‘politics’ has given us some serious challenges over the last 18 months.
We’re still here, albeit right-sizing for current conditions, but after 10 years of continuity on the battery-powered solar-coaster, on October 1st I will hand over the reins to an individual with a vision for the years ahead. More on that in due course*…
In the interim, I’d like to offer my sincere thanks to Robert Llewellyn who has been an absolute gentleman throughout my tenure, and entrusted me to lead the Fully Charged Show Ltd for the best part of a brilliant decade.
I’d also like to thank everyone who worked with me to make it such a fun, successful & influential enterprise. Together, we have inspired huge numbers of people to electrify their lives, and I am immensely proud of that.
I am also thankful that I will get to enjoy a farewell tour of sorts, with two Everything Electric events (London & Sydney) in September, which are already almost sold out (to exhibitors & sponsors) well ahead of time.
My enthusiasm to ‘accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy’ remains undimmed, and I will continue to contribute, as I have consistently over 20 years. For now, here are a few of our achievements:
- multiple awards for content, events & branding
- > 2 billion views across various digital platforms
- 1 million subscribers, 2,000 episodes & podcasts
- 26 expos globally (in Australia, Canada, Europe, UK & the US)
- ~180,000 electric test drives
- countless consumer purchases of EVs of all shapes and sizes, plus energy technologies too
- launched an anti-misinformation campaign (StopBS), and an industry-to-consumer lobby group (EVUK)

This has been the work of a surprisingly small army of amazing individuals, but no one more so than Dan and his wife Jo, who have worked with me tirelessly for so many years and had such an incredible impact across the business. I’m so proud of what we’ve created, and would like to pay them both the most heartfelt thanks for all that they’ve done.”

“After ten tremendous years, it’s time for someone with a fresh perspective to helm the business, and I will be stepping down as CEO of the Fully Charged Show Ltd at the end of September. Robert and I met in the aftermath of the Brexit vote, navigated COVID, and then in spite of global conflict and industrial scales of misinformation, we led the business through a prolonged period of stability. While I’m ready for a new chapter to add to my 30-year career, it is with great sadness that I’ll be saying goodbye to my day to day involvement, but today I reflect proudly on all we’ve achieved together. Next stop Twickenham Stadium, and Sydney Showground!”
