We Drove a BYD Into a Swimming Pool… And It Floated. Inside BYD's EV Theme Park!

Elliot is driving a car… in the middle of a swimming pool.

Welcome to BYD’s massive new testing facility in Zhengzhou! Four years ago, we toured a BYD factory that was making simple economy cars. Fast forward to today, and Elliot is back and ready to witness a transformation that is nothing short of “China Development Speed.”

In this episode of Everything Electric CARS we explore what is essentially a theme park for electric vehicles. We test the limits of BYD’s latest technology, from the off-road beast Fang Cheng Bao 8 to the floating Yangwang U8. Plus, we hit the track in the 1,000+ HP Yangwang U9 supercar to see if it handles as well as it accelerates.

We also get a rare glimpse inside the highly automated Zhengzhou factory to see exactly how these next-gen EVs are built. The difference between now and four years ago is mind-blowing.
