Everything Electric’s first Melbourne event last week drew strong crowds, enthusiastic exhibitors and a record-breaking test drive program that delivered 3,000 electric vehicle test drives, the largest and most diverse EV drive experience ever seen in Victoria.
Across three days, 19,484 attendees explored Melbourne Showgrounds, experiencing leading EV and clean-energy brands, home energy innovators and practical solutions for households seeking to save money amid rising energy costs.
Exhibitors reported strong engagement throughout the event, with many saying visitors arrived well-researched, curious and highly motivated to explore how electric vehicles and home-energy solutions could cut their long-term living expenses.
Test-drive slots were in constant demand, reflecting Victorians’ growing appetite for hands-on experience with EVs across brands, price points and segments. Participating brands included BYD, Geely, Farizon, Nissan, Omoda Jaecoo, Polestar, Renault, Tesla, Volkswagen, Volvo, XPeng and Zeekr. Tesla also completed 700 public Full Self-Driving (Supervised) demonstrations, a world-first in right-hand-drive vehicles.
Several Australian and Victorian firsts drew strong interest, including the national public debut of the Renault Scenic E-Tech and Victorian debuts for the Volkswagen e-Transporter, Leapmotor B10, Omoda Jaecoo J5 and Zeekr 7GT.
Beyond vehicles, attendees explored the extensive Home Energy Zone and attended more than 40 live talks, demonstrations, and podcast recordings covering solar, battery systems, EV charging, bi-directional power, V2G technology and the transition away from gas.
Dan Caesar, CEO of Everything Electric, said the event exceeded expectations and demonstrated how quickly Australians are embracing electric living:
“Bringing the show to Melbourne for the first time has been incredibly rewarding. The level of curiosity and enthusiasm we saw over the weekend shows that Australians aren’t just interested in electric living, they’re ready for it.
Families came looking for practical, cost-saving solutions, and exhibitors told us they’d never had so many informed conversations in a single weekend. People came to learn, compare and experience the technology on their own terms, which is exactly what Everything Electric is designed to deliver.
Next year’s Sydney event will be our biggest yet, and the response here in Victoria confirms that this movement is national. We’re excited to build on the momentum and continue helping Australians make confident, informed choices as the electric transition accelerates,”
he said.
