The UK’s most electrifying cars and tech expo, Everything Electric FARNBOROUGH, is opening its doors to a wave of groundbreaking vehicles, led by the very latest wave of Chinese EVs, many of which are making their UK debut alongside new launches from established Western brands.
At the heart of this year’s show are the ‘star cars’, turning heads with ‘first looks’, ‘first drives’, and UK debuts that demonstrate the rapidly shifting balance of the global automotive market.
Latest research from JATO Dynamics shows that in August 2025 alone, Chinese car brands increased their market share to a record 5.5% and registered more than 43,500 units – a 121% year-on-year increase, outperforming some major European brands.
Leading the charge is the Jaecoo E5, unveiled for the very first time. Dubbed a “Range Rover lookalike at a fraction of the price” by Auto Express, test drives of the E5 during the two-day event are likely to be ‘sold out’ within the first few hours of the show.
Chinese battery EVs making their British bow include:
- BYD Atto 2 – Making its global show debut, with test drives available
- Changan S07 – Available for its very first public test drives in the UK
- Geely EX5 – A sneak peek ahead of its official UK unveiling with rare early test drives
- Jaecoo E5 – Making its global debut, test drives included
- MG IM5 and MG IM6 – Available for their first-ever public test drives in the UK
- Leap T03 – Displaying for the first time in the UK on Octopus EV’s ‘Electric Alley’
- XPeng G6 – Shown for the first time to Everything Electric audiences
However, statistics show that European brands are still in the competition, with 5 of the 7 best-selling brands in Europe being German. A fascinating influx of Chinese challengers, up against established automakers, is also appearing alongside a record number of electric cars:
- Nissan LEAF – First UK show display of the updated model
- Nissan MICRA – Debuts at a UK show for the very first time
- Renault 4 – Fresh from Goodwood, appearing at Everything Electric for the first time
- Mazda 6e – First UK show appearance
Numerous other EVs are making their Everything Electric debut
Discussing the record volume of EVs to be displayed, during the most ambitious show to date, Dan Caesar, CEO of Everything Electric, said:
“This year’s stellar line-up of ‘star cars’ reflects the profound shift taking place in the automotive market. Chinese brands are entering the UK market at pace, offering innovation and affordability that is pushing the long-established names to up their respective games. At the same time, many legacy manufacturers are unveiling exciting new models to compete, ensuring drivers have more choice than ever.”
With an unprecedented blend of debuts, test drives, and brand new models, as well as new home energy innovations, Everything Electric FARNBOROUGH reinforces its position as the UK’s no.1 showcase for the next generation of cheaper, better, connected mobility and technology.
